Ora vs Partiful

Ora vs Partiful

Partiful is an invite and RSVP product for parties — beautiful pages, guest graphs, and “are you coming?” not a ticketing company. Ora is the better fit when the gathering sells tickets and needs a two-sided sponsor and vendor portal, pre/post ticket-buyer reports (age, gender, zip, source channel, purchasing behavior), and Square and Toast (Clover coming soon) for organizers, venues, and brands — bar spend, an event consumption report a room can sell (Twins and Hotel Van Zandt are live onboarded venues, not quotes), and brands buying pours (example only, not a live Ora report: $16k tequila / $5k well) rather than RSVPs. Stay on Partiful for birthdays, house parties, and private lists with no brand recap.

The wedge

Ora’s two-sided sponsor and vendor portal, plus pre- and post-event ticket-buyer reports covering age, gender, zip, source channel, and purchasing behavior.

Ora connects Square and Toast (both live), with Clover coming soon — for organizers, venues, and brands: bar spend and what the night made the venue, an event-level consumption report a room can sell, and beverage sponsorships against what was actually poured — not ticket counts.

Those are the product differences this page is willing to argue. This is not a claim about inventory size, GMV, or how many customers anyone has.

Who the POS flywheel is for

Ora connects Square and Toast (both live), with Clover coming soon. The same bar-consumption data is for organizers, venues, and brands. It sits beside the sponsor/vendor portal and the ticket-buyer reports; it does not replace them.

Organizers

Full visibility of bar spend: what was actually poured, how much money the night made the venue, and beverage-company sponsorships sold against that consumption — not ticket counts. Revenue-split is example framing only (20% of the bar), not a published Ora take-rate. For live commercial terms, get in touch with us at support@oraapp.com.

Venues

An event-level consumption report, then sell that night to brands. Twins and Hotel Van Zandt are live onboarded venues on Ora. That is a customer fact, not a quote, and this page does not publish invented night totals for those rooms as Ora reports.

Brands

Pick nights based on their product’s pour. Example framing only — not a live Ora report, and not a measured night at any named room: a Friday with $16k in tequila drinks, sponsor $5k to own the well. No fake SKUs. The buy is against consumption, not tickets.

Where Partiful is stronger

Invite culture

Partiful is good at “here is the apartment, here is the dress code.” Ora does not claim a warmer invite UX or a denser friend graph. Private parties should stay private.

No marketplace pressure

A Partiful page does not need to pretend it is inventory for brands. That honesty is a feature. Ora is the wrong frame for a 30-person birthday.

Where Ora is stronger

Tickets, then brands

Ora assumes a checkout. Partiful assumes an RSVP. Once money and a booth are in the brief, you need the two-sided portal, not another invite theme.

Buyer reports Partiful does not exist to write

Age, gender, zip, source channel, and purchasing behavior — pre and post — are ticket-buyer artifacts. An RSVP graph does not produce them.

A house party is not a POS feed

Ora connects Square and Toast (both live), Clover coming soon, for organizers, venues, and brands. Partiful RSVPs do not become bar spend, an event consumption report, or a pour a brand can buy.

Who should stay on Partiful

Stay on Partiful if you are inviting friends, collecting plus-ones, and you would never send a sponsor a PDF.

Who should look at Ora

Look at Ora when the party grows a ticket price, a public page, and a vendor who wants zip codes from actual buyers — or a beverage brand that wants Square, Toast, and Clover consumption, not plus-ones.

Questions, answered

Is Partiful a ticketing company?
No. It is an invite and RSVP product. You can sometimes collect money around a party, but the product’s center of gravity is the guest list, not GA inventory and payouts.
When should a birthday stay on Partiful?
When the people on the list already know you, capacity is a living-room problem, and no brand is paying for access. That is Partiful’s job.
Can Partiful sell paid GA and then report zip codes to a sponsor?
Not as Ora’s ticket-buyer report. Partiful does not operate a two-sided sponsor portal that exports age, gender, zip, source channel, and purchasing behavior to a brand.
Does Ora want private house parties?
Ora is for ticketed events organizers are willing to put on a public page. A closed house party should stay on an invite tool. This page is not asking you to list your birthday.
What is the difference between an invite graph and a buyer report?
An invite graph answers who was asked and who said yes. A buyer report answers who paid, how old they are, which zip they came from, which channel they used, and what they tend to purchase — which is what a sponsor is buying.
Does Partiful hook Square, Toast, or Clover for a drinks sponsor?
Partiful is an invite graph. Ora connects Square and Toast (with Clover coming soon) for three audiences: organizers see bar spend and what they made the venue; venues sell an event consumption report (Twins and Hotel Van Zandt are live onboarded venues, not quotes); brands pick pours. Example only, not a live Ora report: $16k tequila, $5k well. RSVPs do not become that feed.
